BUNYAN, LEONA

The Family is sad to announce the passing of Mrs. Leona Bunyan. She passed away Jan.9/2013 at the Humboldt Hospital, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer, at the age of 60. Leona was born Feb.10/1952 to Reg and Marge Cummings. She grew up on the family farm in the Bradburn School District, where she attended school, until 1965 when they moved to Quill Lake. She married Morris Bunyan Oct.5/1968, and moved out to WImmer where they farmed. They were blessed with two children, Lori and Marlon. Leona helped out on the farm and also worked with her long time friend and neighbor Linda Ochitwa, house cleaning for people. She then went on to work at the Watson Motor Inn, in housekeeping for 9 years. Leona also worked for a bit at Willow Creek Organics in Watson. Working was more an excuse to get out and visit with friends and co-workers. Morris and Leona decieded to retire from farming, and the fall of 2009 was there last harvest. They went out and bought a camper, with plans to do more camping and fishing. Unfortunately she only got to use it two years when she became sick. Some other hobbies of hers was cooking and baking which she was amazing at. She loved to putter in her yard planting lots of flowers. Leona got into ceramics and joined the club in Watson where there was lots of visiting and laughs, when there she made a bunch of lawn ornaments that she put out in her yard. Leona's world revolved around her family, especially her three grandkids whom were everything to her. Leona will sadley be missed by her husband of 44 years Morris Bunyan of Quill Lake, their 2 children Marlon Bunyan of Quill Lake and Lori (Howard) Knackstedt of Watson and 3 grandkids Justin, Trina and Dawson Knackstedt. Nephew Jeff Chmarney of Saskatoon, Niece Leah (Rod) Deans of Saskatoon and their 2 girls Kendra, and Erica. Brother in law Paul Chmarney (Leona) of Quill Lake. She was predeceased by her parents and her only sibling, sister Linda Chmarney Apr.4/2012 from the same cancer. Leona didn't want a funeral, so the family will be having there own little thing for her in the spring.
