FRERICHS: Leo August

September 4, 1935 - June 20, 2014

Today is a very sad day for the family of Leo Frerichs. On the morning of June 20th, Leo peacefully passed away at the age of 78 at the Humboldt District Hospital. Leo was the most kind and gentle man, with more patience than you could imagine. He was born on September 4th, 1935 to Maria Klinker and Gustav Frerichs on the family farm near St. Gregor. Leo grew up loving the land, animals, and every aspect of the farm. He met Agnes Willenborg and they were married in July of 1962. Leo and Agnes set up their own mixed farm, where they are currently residing, just down the road from the family farm. Both Leo and Agnes loved their farm and yard. They spent many hours in the summer grooming it like a park and in the winter decorating it with lights. One of Leo's greatest joys in recent years was watching his grandsons at the hockey rink and ball diamond. Leo was a fanatic Humboldt Bronco fan; he rarely missed a home game and if he did, he listened to it on the radio. If the Broncos were not playing, he would go to LeRoy senior hockey games. Leo also enjoyed puzzling and playing cards with his friends in town, or just sharing a good cup of coffee at the table with neighbors. Leo will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Agnes of 51 years; daughter Bonny (Craig), Quinn and Shea of Saskatoon; son Brad (Leann), Colby, Carter, and Brody of Muenster. Leo is survived by one brother Tony Frerichs, and two sisters Annie (nee Frerichs) Strueby and Mary Frerichs. He was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Maria (nee Klinker) Frerichs; brothers Bernard, Gary, Alois and a sister Mary; brother-in-law, Isidore Strueby; and his grandson Quinn. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday June 24th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. for family. A Memorial Social was held at St. Gregor Hall, Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Muenster Sports Club (Baseball). This was a spot Leo loved watching all of his grandsons play baseball; he would be proud to know he was giving back to a sport his boys love. Arrangements have been left in the hands of Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
