Lawrence Peter WeimanOctober 29, 1927 - January 18, 2012It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Lawrence Weiman of Bruno, Sk., which occurred at Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson, SK on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. He was 84 years of age. Lawrence was born to John and Anna (nee Meier) Weiman on October 29,1927 in Bruno, Sask. He attended school at Hoffman School which was located by Neil Weiman's homeplace. Following his education, Lawrence worked for Osmund and Ervyn Thiel on their farm for 10 years. Lawrence married Corrine Lingl on November 16th, 1954 at Bruno and they settled into the town of Bruno where they resided happily together for their married life. Lawrence worked at the Bruno Hotel for 17 years with his brother, Wilfred. Next, Lawrence worked at the Hillcrest Turkey farm for a number of years. His last job, before retiring, was for the Town of Bruno. Long hours and physical labor were never too much. Lawrence loved the freedom of the outdoors and enjoyed doing yard work, hilling potatoes and trimming trees after a day's work. In his spare time, Lawrence also enjoyed going for walks, fishing, playing cards, and buying and selling vehicles. Lawrence always had time to be Grandpa to his four grandchildren, attending whatever event they may be in and always asking what they were up to. As a member of the community, Lawrence belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Bruno Friendship Center and the Bruno Housing Board. Lawrence took great pride in his work and making sure the job was done. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Corrine (nee Lingl) Weiman of Bruno; two sons: David (Maureen Blight) Weiman of Danbury, SK, and Brian (Carol) Weiman of Bruno and daughters Jenna and Jessica; one daughter: Joan (Neil) Manderscheid of Bruno and family, Ian (Carmen) Manderscheid and their daughter Kadence and Michael Manderscheid; one brother Clemence Weiman, two sisters-in-law, Florence Weiman and Alvina Weiman, all of Bruno; step sister-in-law, Erna Glaser of Bruno; members of Corrine's family: Margaret Lingl of Calgary, AB; Gordon (Irene) Lingl and Bernice (Anton) Schmidt, all of Preeceville; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents: John Sr. and Anna (nee Meier) Weiman; and nine brothers and three sisters: John Sr., Joseph, Pauline Strasser, Mary O'Connell (Sand), Leo, Tony, Herman, Wilfred, Elmer, and by two brothers and one sister in infancy; step brother, Herbert Glaser; members of Corrine's family: Zotique (Muriel) Lingl and Richard Lingl. Prayer service for Lawrence was held on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., at St. Bruno R.C. Church in Bruno, presided by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part in the prayer service were: the St. Bruno Parish Choir, music; David Weiman, eulogist; Ken Weiman and Audrey Bender, scripture readers; Lillian Theissing and Margaret Keehborn, memorial table attendants. The Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Bruno R.C. Church celebrated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part in the Funeral Mass were: Jessica Weiman, cross bearer; Brendan Weiman and Jody Kainer, scripture readers; Arlene Knoblauch, Cindy Schlosser and Valerie Huslage intentions; Michael Manderscheid and Jenna Weiman, gift bearers; Anton Schmidt, eucharistic minister; Brooke Weiman, Katelyn Doetzel, and Ben Pulvermacher, altar servers; St. Bruno Parish choir, music; Members of the Knights of Columbus, honor guard; Melvin Strasser, Larry Weiman, Leslie Weiman, Mark Weiman, Myles Weiman and Ian Manderscheid, pallbearers; "All those who shared in Lawrence's Life", honorary pallbearers. Interment followed at St. Bruno R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either Bruno Friendship Center or St. Bruno Parish Building Fund. SCHULER-LEFEBVRE, Humboldt, SK
