RAMLER: Kelly Richard
July 27, 1960 - August 4, 2014
Kelly passed away peacefully on August 4, 2014, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Kelly was born and raised near Annaheim, where he received his education. After graduating from high school, he worked at various jobs before attending SIAST in Moose Jaw. Kelly then worked in Calgary for 10 years before moving to Regina to work and be with his beloved Roughriders. For the past 10 years, Kelly worked for Sasktel in Network Operations where he formed many close friendships. In 2004, he was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis for which he spent months in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center. In March of 2014, he was diagnosed with cancer. Kelly was predeceased by his father, Alvin in 2006. He is survived by his mother, Lillian (Sarauer) Ramler; five siblings: Leon Ramler (Corinne) and family Amy, Aaron (Donna) and children Connor and Evyn, and Andrew (Christina); Ken Ramler and family, Jordan, Geoff, and Shelbi Touhey (Mike); Don Ramler (Joan) and family, Jay and Carter; Gwen Doepker (Lionel) and family, Evan (Shawna) and children Brooklyn and Joshua, Grant (Christina) and daughter Bree, and Brad (Bobbyjo) and children Daryl and Ryder; and Cindy Ramler; special cousin and close friends Owen and Donna Sarauer, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. A special thank you to the staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Center, and to the doctors and nurses on 3B and Palliative Care at Pasqua Hospital. At Kelly's request, a private interment of his ashes was held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt. A Celebration of Kelly's life was held at the St. Augustine Parish Hall, Humboldt, on Saturday, August 9, 2014, with a short program starting at 3:00 p.m. Urnbearers were Kelly's siblings: Leon Ramler, Ken Ramler, Don Ramler, Gwen Doepker and Cindy Ramler. Cindy also delivered words of remembrance of her brother. Lunch and socializing followed.
