Ivy May Buchanan July 23, 1938 - March 3, 2011Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on July 23, 1938 and peacefully passed away on March 3, 2011 in Pallative Care at the Saanichton Peninsula Hospital. Predeceased by parents, Vivian May Crook (nee McConnell) of Lanigan, Saskatchewan and James Melford Crook of Humboldt, Saskatchewan and sister, Fay Vivian Townsend of Victoria, British Columbia. Ivy will be greatly missed by sister, Elva Crook, daughter, Sherry Ann Buchanan and granddaughter, Ashley Lee Baird, all from Vancouver, British Columbia, and by friends. Ivy was very involved with seniors' groups, was a member and past president of Legion #172 for numerous years, and enjoyed her garden. Her dogs, Venus and Mandy, were well loved. A celebration of life was held on March 26, 2011 at the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans of Canada Club, Sidney, British Columbia. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Ivy to the British Columbia Cancer Society. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. Arrangements will be made by her daughter Sherry Buchanan (Baird) from Vancouver, British Columbia.
