NOVECOSKY - It is with great sadness the family announces that Hilda Veronica Novecosky, 71 years of Bethany Pioneer Village Middle Lake and formally of Humboldt passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon surrounded by her loving family. Hilda Veronica was born on March 31, 1941 to Fred and Christine (nee Tetzlaff) Novecosky in Humboldt. Hilda took her education at Attica School. Hilda had a passion to nurture and care for people. This loving and caring trait was with her from a very young age as she began helping her mother to care for her siblings. As an adult she had employment in Lanigan, Regina, Saskatoon and Vancouver in the care giving field. This experience became very honourable as she took care of her mother for many years at Eastside Village. Hilda loved her life at Eastside Village where she made some very good friendships. Family was always #1 to Hilda as her extended family grew in numbers she still was the first to give them a call on their birthday or anniversary. This call usually came very early in the morning as she had to be the first to send greetings. She was very involved with her family and maintained a very close and loving relationship with all her siblings, nieces, nephews and all of their families. Auntie Hilda was very important to them all. She was a very social person who loved people and could be found out and about visiting and sharing her wonderful warm smile. She was happiest when she was giving of herself and really didn't want to be fussed over. Hilda's warm and welcoming personality will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her eight brothers and sisters: Maggie Bernal of Lanigan, Sr. Theresa Novecosky of Humboldt, Albert Novecoski of Vernon, BC, George (Theresa) Novecosky of Humboldt, Sr. Claire Novecosky of Brazil, Elsie (Ron) Oakman of Vancouver, BC, Ervin (Rita) Novecosky of Humboldt and Jim (Laura) Novecosky of Lanigan; and by numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Hilda was predeceased by her parents: Fred and Christine Novecosky and two siblings in infancy: Agnes and Anthony. A Prayer Service was held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. presided by Nestor Trach; music ministry, Sarah, Andy and Louise; scripture readers, Karen and Terry and words of remembrance were shared by Fred. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. concelebrated by Fr. Gregory Roth, Abbot Peter Novecosky OSB, Fr. Rudolph Novecosky OSB and Fr. Bernard Stauber.
