The passing of Mr. Henry Nett of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, (and formerly of Bruno, SK) occurred at his residence on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the age of 98 years. Henry was born on November 27, 1916, to Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Kalthoff) Nett in Strome, AB. At the age of five, the family moved to the Bruno District where he attended Wilmont School. After completing school, he helped out with the farming operation. On September 27, 1939, Henry married Annie Lopinski and they resided on the farm until their retirement in 1974 when they moved into Bruno. In 2005, he moved into Bethany Pioneer Village - seven years in Birch Manor and then three years in Aspen. Henry is survived by his children Roszeta (Marcellus) Bernauer and family, Randy (Corinne) Bernauer, Brad (special friend Doreen Stevens) Bernauer, Rhonda (Kurtis) Sleeva, Brenda Bernauer; Raymond (Cathy) Nett and family, Blandine (Alain) Tremel, Barry (Denise) Nett, Jody (Tasha) Nett, Amanda (Alain) Basset; Agnes (Bede) Frank and family, Scott (Jennifer) Frank; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lena Bender and Arnold Nett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Annie (nee Lopinski) Nett; parents Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Kalthoff) Nett; and his siblings, Ben, Peter, Joseph, Mary, Hilda, Katie, Viola, Annie and Rose. The Funeral Mass for Henry was offered at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno, on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. celebrated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part were: Brad Bernauer, crossbearer; Amanda Basset and Blandine Tremel, scripture readers; Jody Nett and Barry Nett, intentions; Rhonda Sleeva, Scott Frank and Randy Bernauer, giftbearers; Tristan Basset, Aiden Nett, Colby Nett, Ayden Frank, mass servers; Brenda Bernauer and Robyn Niebrugge, special music; St. Bruno Parish Choir, music ministry; Annie Moritz, organist; and Lillian Theissing and Debbie Weiman, memorial table attendants. Urnbearer was Raymond Nett.Ìý Interment will take place at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Bethany Pioneer Village.
