SCHEMENAUER: Henry Albert

October 27,1917 - January 31,2014

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Henry at age 96 at Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, Sk. Henry was born in the Lake Lenore district to William and Anna (Weber) Schemenauer, the eighth child in a family of thirteen. Henry was predeceased by his wife Bernilda "Bernie" (Brinkman) in 1998. He is survived by his two Daughters; LILLIAN (Richard) Kolke: their son Scott Egger (Janice Fong) and Rhonda Egger, their two sons Mitchell (Sarah) Egger and their children Spencer, Fiona and Juliet, and Ryan (Jessie) Egger and their daughter Rylee; daughter Lani (Russell) Knaus, their children Tamra (Martin), John (Candace), and Steven (Raven) Knaus; son Richard (Leona) Kolke; son David (Elizabeth) Kolke, their children Jenn (Nick) Ellis, Lorne (Manami) Holmes and their children Noah and Maya, and Beth Holmes; and daughter Carmen (Keith) Christensen and their children Justin and Jadelynn; and FAYE (Cliff) Hagerty: their two daughters Dana (Warren) Saretsky and their sons Braden, Jonah and Matthew; and Stacey (Noah O'Neal) Hagerty and their son Dashel. He is also survived by two sisters, Kay Lengyel and Rose Misouri, a sister-in-law, Vera Schemenauer, and by sisters-in-law, Mary Ramler, Lori (Des) Borstmayer, Fronie Brinkman and Irma Brinkman. He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers: Walter, Ben, Albert, Tony and Billy; five sisters: Evelyn (Lauer), Eleanore (Boehm-Joa), Mary (Hendricks), Geramia (Theis) and Anne (Pincott) and son-in-law, Harold Egger. Henry attended School in Lake Lenore and worked with his dad on the farm. Henry and Bernie were married in 1940 and farmed at Daylesford where he served on the R.M. of Lake Lenore Council from 1948 to 1957. The family moved to Saskatoon where Henry sold real-estate and continued to farm. In 1964 they moved to Humboldt where they bought into the Massey- Ferguson dealership, which he sold to his son-in-law, Cliff, and daughter, Faye, in 1974. He continued to go out to the business on a daily basis, helping Cliff ease into the business and himself into retirement. In 1977 Henry took the term retirement literally and rented his land; he and Bernie spent many years enjoying golfing, curling, fishing, camping, going "south" for the winter, and socializing with their many friends and relatives. A public visitation for Henry was held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Hwy 5 East, Humboldt. The Funeral Mass was offered on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Ephriam Mensah. Interment followed in the St. Augustine Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations in Henry's memory may be directed to the Humboldt SPCA, Humboldt Golf Club, Humboldt Curling Club or the St. Augustine Parish Building Fund. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.
