Ìý

The peaceful death of Mrs. Frances Lea Meyer, 94 years, of Kamloops, BC formerly of Bruno occurred on Sunday, April 17, 2016 surrounded by her family. Frances was born on September 23, 1921 to Geert and Vrouwke (nee Berghuis) Arbeider in Holland. Her father emigrated to Prince Albert in the fall of 1928. His wife Vrouwke and their five children followed in May 1929 making the voyage by boat. Their sixth child was born in Prince Albert. Her father was employed by the Four X Bakery in Prince Albert. The family then moved to Naicam in 1938 where they purchased their own bakery. Then in 1941 they moved to Bruno and ran a bakery and café. Frances would help at the bakery and café and help with domestic duties around the home. In 1942 Frances married the love of her life Francis (Fritz) Meyer. They were blessed with four children. Francis and Frances farmed north of Bruno and upon retirement in 1972 they moved into town. Unfortunately their retirement years were cut short with the passing of Fritz in March 1976. Frances was employed at the Turkey Hatchery and Bruno Library for many years. She enjoyed being out and about with her friends playing cards at the Friendship Center. Frances was always up with the times and very adventurous so much so that in May 2014 at the age of 93 she moved to Kamloops, BC. She accepted this move with ease and anticipation of having fun which she did.Ìý Frances was very active in her daily routine, making new friends and going on scenic tours. These past two years were cherished by her family in BC. Frances made one last trip to Saskatchewan this past Easter to meet her latest great great grandchild. This trip also included a great card game with her grandchildren, one they will all remember. Family was very important to her and she was very active in each of their lives. Frances will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her 4 children, nine grand children, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren: ANNAVON Seidel of Bruno and family Michele (Wayne) Hoppe and family Shane (Tricia) Hoppe and daughter Lexi all of Bruno, Kimberly (Dustin) Folk and daughter Abbie of Cudworth, Stephanie (Devin) Dosch ofÌý Saskatoon and Hillary (Jonathon) Kochan and children Peyton and Hunter of Wakaw, Jody (Arden) Sobush of Saskatoon and family Landon and Mikayla, Chris (Rhonda) Seidel and family Jayden and Rylan and Peggy (Roger) Dauvin and family Jensen, Blake and Tori all of Saskatoon; DUANE (Eileen) Meyer of Kamloops and family James Meyer (Jessica) of Chetwynd, BC; CATHY (Brian) Schriml and family Melissa (Darryl) Damini and sons Seth and Samuel andChad (Lisa) Schriml and sons Kiel and Luke all of Kamloops, BC; COLLEEN (Gordon) Lee of Kamloops, BC and children Justin of Vancouver, BC and Aimee (Benny) of Kamloops, BC; Also survived by her sister Anne Johnson of Carrot River; baby brother Gerry Arbeider of Vancouver, BC; brother-in-law Ken Meyer of Saskatoon; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
