The death of Mrs. Elizabeth (nee Froess) Struck of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Monday, June 16, 2014. She was 90 years of age. Elizabeth was born to Valentine and Elizabeth (Kosokosky) Froess one of 16 children. She was raised and went to school in the Carmel district. She met and married Marcus "Mark" Struck in August of 1946. They lived on a farm near Middle Lake until 1955 when they moved into Humboldt. Elizabeth worked hard at raising their eight children and when they were grown, she worked as a cook. She was a member of the CWL in her younger years and then the Seniors Club. Travelling was one thing she loved. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed life and the little things in it. Elizabeth lived a long and healthy life and when she needed to she moved into St. Mary's Villa one year ago. Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her eight children, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren: Bonnita(Charles) Bennett and her family, Aaron Gerwing (Barb Gibson) and children Carmen and Caytlin, and Colette Gerwing; David (Judy) Struck and their family, Mark (Shannon) Struck and children Madeline, Katherine, and Joel, Cory (Quinn Baleja) Struck, and Heidi Struck; Belinda Struck (Jason Wells) and family, Tanya Boudreau, Chad (Shelly) Boudreau and children Breton and Lochlan; Bernadette (Gordon) Corman and family, Stephanie Corman and children Breana and Nicole Burroughs, Chantel Gordon, Christine (Gurmeet) Singh, and William Corman; Carol Struck (husband Lorne Lavier); Audrey Struck; Bettyann (Andrew) Gerwing; and Yvette Struck; five sisters and five brothers: Helen Klashinsky, Agatha Struck, Amelia Hummel, Celina Koehler, Theresa (John) Matiakis, John Froess, Peter Froess, Tony (Lavina) Fraess, Albert (Virginia) Froess and Clemence (Lorraine) Fraess; brother-in-law Dave McClelland; sister-in-law Marian Froess; and by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Marcus "Mark" Struck; parents Valentine and Elizabeth (nee Kosokosky) Froess; four sisters: Ann (Wendil) Klashinsky, Mary (Tom) Gouldhawke, Cecelia (Roman) Struck, and Olga McClelland; brother Paul Froess; sister-in-law Alma Froess; brothers-in-law: Albert Klashinsky, Ervin Struck, Edward Hummel, and Fred Koehler; and son-in-law Gordon Gilroy. The Prayer Service was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., presided by Nestor Trach, and organist Kathy Phillips. Scripture readers were Heidi Struck and Judy Struck, and the eulogy was delivered by Chad Boudreau. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Ephraim Mensah. Others taking part were: Carmen Gerwing and Caytlin Gerwing, crossbearers; Heidi Struck and Judy Struck, scripture readers; Theresa Struck, intentions; Stephanie Corman and Colette Gerwing, giftbearers; and Theresa Struck, memorial table attendant. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Elizabeth's life". Active pallbearers were Aaron Gerwing, Mark Struck, Cory Struck, and Chad Boudreau. Interment will take place at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to either the Alzheimer Association or to St. Mary's Villa Foundation.
