Betty was born in Spruce Lake, Saskatchewan on April 29, 1935. Betty's family moved to Lashburn in 1940, and she completed her high school education at Lashburn. Betty's decision to move to Humboldt in 1953 to attend the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing would determine her career path as a Nurse, and also her family life. These two choices would set the stage for the next 60 years of her life. Betty graduated in 1956 and received the award for highest mark in Theory. She then obtained her RN designation. Betty met and fell in love with her 'Soul Mate' Theodore and they married on June 12, 1957. They were partners in all aspects of their lives from raising their family, their farming career and retirement activities - there was never one without the other. Betty was a dedicated nurse for 34 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Due to health issues, she left her nursing career in 1990 and retired in 2000. Betty's interests and hobbies included gardening, sewing, cooking, dancing and curling. She was very involved in community activities. Betty was passionate in every aspect of her life; she was compassionate, loving and lived life to the fullest. Mom, grandma, great grandma you had a 'Heart of Gold' and we will miss you dearly.
