Eleanor Mae "Dolly" LisitzaSeptember 17, 1933 - April 26, 2011The death of Mrs. Eleanor Mae "Dolly" (nee Andersen) Lisitza of Humboldt occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was 77 years of age. Dolly was born on September 17, 1933, to Oluf and Ida (nee Olson) Andersen at Pleasantdale, SK. She spent her formative years in and around the Pleasantdale area. Following graduation, she attended Teachers College in Saskatoon. Dolly taught school in a one-room schoolhouse at Middle Lake Rural and Grove Lake schools. Upon marrying Orest and starting a family, she gave up her teaching career. Over the years, Dolly worked part-time at the village office in Middle Lake, and later with Orest in the insurance business. She was well-known and very active, volunteering in the community and the Lutheran Church. Dolly loved to golf, play bridge, curl, travel and make beautiful handicrafts. She had the pleasure of being able to retire with Orest and live the winters in Arizona for 20 years. Her children and her grandchildren truly were her pride and joy. Dolly will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Orest Lisitza of Humboldt; their four children and nine grandchildren: Richard (Susan) Lisitza and children Megan, Joseph, and Cassie of Stony Plain, AB; Michael (Arlene) Lisitza and children Torrie and Tyler of St. Albert, AB; Janine (Michael) Possberg and daughter Kyra of Saskatoon; and Lisa (Len) Mueller and daughters Alexa, Shae-Lynn and Sabrina of Saskatoon. She is also remembered by her two brothers, Ken (Marilyn), Bruce (Lila); two sisters, Bev (Arliss), and Vi (Don); and numerous special nieces and nephews. Dolly was predeceased by her parents, Oluf and Ida (nee Olson) Andersen; and her parents-in-law, Joseph and Mary Lysitza. The Funeral Service for Dolly was held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Lowell Guebert. The organist was Elaine Siegel. The eulogy was delivered by sons-in-law, Michael Possberg and Len Mueller. Honorary pallbearers were Dolly's grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Ken Andersen, Bruce Andersen, Larry Lysitza, Joseph Lisitza, Len Mueller, and Michael Possberg. Interment followed at the Humboldt Public Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Saskatchewan Lung Association or the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation Equipment Fund. Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
