SARETSKY: Eileen Mary

June 26, 1926 - May 9, 2014

It is with sadness that the family announces that the death of Eileen Saretsky occurred on Friday, May 9th 2014 at Samaritan Place. She is survived by her seven children and their families: Jean Saretsky(Dennis) and their son Douglas; James(Mary) and their daughters Kristine and Laura; Joan(Mike) Grace and their children Matt and Lindsay(Chad); Michael(Cori) and their daughters Lauren and Amy; Tom(Patrice) and their daughters Stephanie and Kathryn; Donna(Paul) Cyr and their son Scott; and Steven(Janet) as well as her sister Jean Gosbee and sister-in-law Aileen Saretsky and many nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Roman, sister Madeline, brother Don and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Eileen was born and raised in Lloyminster. At age eighteen she joined the Women's Army Core during WW II where she learned her secretary skills. She met and married Roman while working for the Land Titles office in Humboldt, SK. They were married for 57 years and raised seven children. During retirement Eileen was very active, walking, rollerblading, playing tennis and bowling. Well into her 80's she could walk faster and farther than most 30 year olds. Eileen travelled extensively until she was no longer able to do so. Of particular joy to Eileen were the many gatherings with her family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family and many friends. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home followed by a reception at the Edwards Family Centre prior to interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. For those so wishing memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of SK (301 - 2550 12th Ave. Regina SK S4P 3X1). Condolences may be sent to [email protected]. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.
