It is with sadness the family announces that the death of Dorothy Mildred Kunaman. Dorothy is survived by her three sons and their families: Don Kunaman his wife Susan Pulvermacher and his son Stuart; her son Larry Kunaman and his sons Jonathan, Michael and Wesley his wife Fabs and their children Raquelle and Kai; her son Harold Dale Kunaman and his children Andrea and Neal, as well as her brother Maurice (Doris) McIlarth and brother-in-law Wilfred Kunaman. She was predeceased; by her husband Harold, parents Roy and Alta McIlrath, daughter-in-law Lynn (Larry) Kunaman, sister-in-law Verna Kryway (Mike) and her husband Harold's parents Joseph and Anna Kunaman. Dorothy was born in Haverhill, Iowa and moved with her family to Radville, SK in 1928. After graduating from high school, she embarked on a career with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, which brought her to Humboldt in 1943. She married Harold in 1945. After leaving the bank, Dorothy became a book keeper for a number of Humboldt businesses. Harold became ill in 1963, leaving Dorothy additional responsibilities in raising their three sons. Harold passed away in 1977. Dorothy was an active volunteer with St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, Humboldt and Area Arts Council, Humboldt 4-H, Humboldt Museum, Humboldt Horticultural Society, Humboldt Public School Board Trustee, Westminster United Church and the Humboldt Good Neighbour Store. When not volunteering, Dorothy was an avid hobbyist. Two of her passions were collecting carnival glass and growing and creating flower arrangements. Playing cards, especially bridge, was always a big part of Dorothy's life. In fact at one time she a member of five different card groups. In 2004 Dorothy moved to the Primrose Chateau in Saskatoon and became an integral part of that community. Dorothy will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family and many friends. The memorial service was held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home (corners of 4th Ave. and 25th St.). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humboldt Good Neighbour Store or the Royal University Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.
