HALL: Dorothy

Mrs. Dorothy Bertha Hall age 88 passed away at St. Mary鈥檚 Villa, Humboldt, and peacefully entered Heaven鈥檚 gates on Thursday, December 17th. Dorothy was born in Humboldt, SK on October 26, 1927 to Bernard and Anna Saretsky. She was raised in Richlea, SK and after High School, she moved to Rosetown for Secretarial School. In 1950 her family moved to Humboldt and she worked at various businesses as a bookkeeper and a salesperson. While there, Dorothy met the love of her life John Hall and on June 8th 1955 they were wed at St. Augustine Church. John and 鈥淒ottie鈥 had four children: David, Kenneth, Michael and Ann. Dorothy dedicated her life to God, her husband and her children. She was very devoted to her faith and lived her faith by example. She was a strong supporter of Pro-Life and worked for the CWL many years. Dorothy loved children and would spend hours doing crafts or playing imaginative games with them. They did crafts, cards, puzzles, board games, etc. but everyone鈥檚 favourite was dress-up from Grandma鈥檚 extensive tickle trunk. As a family, they enjoyed many camping trips in SK, AB and the northern States. Dorothy and John also enjoyed square dancing, curling and bowling and after John鈥檚 retirement in 1984, they travelled Canada and overseas. Dorothy鈥檚 passion was her family. Her immediate and extended families were always together to celebrate events such as Christmas, Easter, birthdays or the 鈥渂ig game鈥 on TV. It was important to her that her children knew their cousins and other relatives and many memories were created when they frequently gathered. When John passed away in 1999, it was challenging for Dorothy to be alone but with much听perseverance听she became a strong self-determined survivor.听She lived independently with no health issues until her early 80鈥檚 but a fall in Spring, 2015 caused her physical and mental well-being to decline and she moved from Caleb Senior Housing Residence to St. Mary鈥檚 Villa in the summer of 2015. Dorothy鈥檚 love for life, wonderful sense of humour and contagious smile will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four听 children, 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren: DAVID (Geralyn) Hall of Moose Jaw and family Donna (Aaron) Rogers and children Aidan and Natalie of Calgary, AB, Jonathan Hall (Alina Janzen) of Victoria, BC and Daniel Hall of G盲vle, Sweden; KENNETH (Constance) Hall of Humboldt and family Stephanie (Kyle) Moorman and children Illiana and Callen of Humboldt, Cassandra Hall (Steeve Veilleux) of Regina, Benedict Hall (Daphene Ecklund) of Humboldt and Karlan Hall and daughter Rio of Saskatoon; MICHAEL (Cheryl) Hall of Lloydminster, SK and family Adam (Patricia) Hall of Ottawa, ON, Bradon Hall (Alexandra Crevier) and son Hudson of Cold Lake, AB and Thomas Hall of Saskatoon; and ANN (Craig) Hermann and sons Blake and Tyler all of Saskatoon; brother Leo Saretsky of Humboldt; sister-in-law Helen Saretsky of Wainwright, AB and numerous nieces and nephews.
