Clara Rose MacDonald:
March 15, 1922 - March 16, 2013
The death of Mrs. Clara Rose (nee Weisgerber) MacDonald of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, (formerly of LeRoy, SK), occurred at her residence on Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was 91 years of age. Clara will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five children, 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren: Lenwood (Joan) MacDonald and family: Perry (Sandra) MacDonald and daughter Andrina, Renee (Marc) Anderson and children Kieran and Rees, Lynette (Lorne) Cumming and children Cory (Kelly), Devon, Mathew, and Robyn; Kara Lee (Gus) Cave and children Dakota, Kayden, and Asha, and Jeffrey (Melanie) MacDonald and children Morgan and Macy; Darlene (Jerry) Kresse and family: Blaine (Donna) Kresse and children Cassandra Kresse (Glenn) and Larissa Kresse, Kevin (Heather) Kresse and children Emma and Abbey, Colette Zich (Norm) and children Brenna, and Jaron Bessette; Gillis (Loretta) MacDonald and family: Caron (Brent) Bacon and children Dawson, Caleb, Rhys, and Levi, Scott (Kerri) MacDonald and children Ellie and Evan, Ryan MacDonald and Jenelle MacDonald; Deloraine (Peter) Flach and family: Michael (Larissa) Flach and children Gabriel and Noah, Nathan Flach and Allison Flach; Vaudree ( Dan) Reinhardt and family: Alicia (Jonathan) Sadleir and children Madeleine, Kai, and Olivia, Craig (Tresa) Reinhardt and son Nixon, Brandan Reinhardt, and Devin (Kristjana) Reinhardt; step-daughter Elaine (Al) Virtue and step-son Les (Kathy) Eaton; two sisters: Pauline Harcourt and Leona (Stan) Siwik; sisters-in-law: Frances Weisgerber and Jackie Weisgerber; brother-in-law, Peter Merkosky; in-laws of the MacDonald and Eaton families; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Leo MacDonald (1990), and second husband Edwin Eaton (2004); parents, Chris and Catherine (nee Zentner) Weisgerber; five brothers: William, Christian, Tom, Bernie and Pat Weisgerber; three sisters: Mary Lorenski-LeBlanc, Elizabeth Stockbrugger and Helen Merkosky; brothers-in-law: Carl Flikinger, Tony Lorenski, Herv LeBlanc, Richard Harcourt, and Aloys Stockbrugger; and by in-laws of the MacDonald and Eaton families. Clara was born to Chris and Catherine (nee Zentner) Weisgerber at Robsart, SK. She grew up at Romance, SK, and attended Natika School. On November 14, 1942, she married Leo MacDonald. They farmed and raised their children west of LeRoy. They moved to Humboldt (1976) and continued to farm for many years. Clara was active in the Sinnett 4-H Club, LeRoy Catholic Ladies Aid, Seniors choir, St Augustine Catholic Church choir and the CWL. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, ceramics, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. The Prayer Service for Clara was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., led by Walter Sarauer. Scripture readers were Allison Flach and Brandan Reinhardt, and the eulogy was delivered by Loretta MacDonald. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Augustine R.C. Church on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Gregory Roth. Others taking part were: Jenelle MacDonald, crossbearer; Scott MacDonald and Lynette Cumming, scripture readers; KaraLee Cave, intentions; Colette Zich, Kevin Kresse and Nathan Flach, giftbearers; Cassandra Kresse and Larissa Kresse, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by the St. Augustine Parish Funeral Choir. An honor guard was formed by members of the C.W.L. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Clara's life". Active pallbearers were Perry MacDonald, Blaine Kresse, Renee Anderson, Jeffrey Macdonald, Alicia Sadleir, Caron Bacon, Michael Flach, Craig Reinhardt, Ryan MacDonald and Devin Reinhardt. Interment followed at Holy Rosary R.C. Cemetery, LeRoy. Memorial donations may be directed to the Holy Rosary R.C. Cemetery Fund. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary's Villa and Evergreen Country Home for the care they have given their Mom over the past years.
