The passing of Barry Eggerman of Humboldt, SK, occurred on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the age of 59 years. Barry John Eggerman, uncle, grandpa, husband and friend, started his journey as a son and brother on September 21, 1955. He was born in to the loving arms of John and Martha Eggerman alongside his brother Eugene. The family farm kept them busy with grain, cattle and hogs, as well as the many other critters running around. The boys would tend to the livestock with their dogs as well as cut wood for the water tank heater. I hear there may have even been the odd hockey game played out in the yard. When Barry was old enough he started grade 1 in Englefeld and continued there until grade 10. He took grades 11 and 12 in Watson. After graduation Barry continued working on the farm with his dad and brother and also held a variety of jobs such as a welder and a truck driver. He hauled logs and worked in the lumber mills in B.C. as well as worked in a potash mine. On March 27, 1981, Barry married Brenda Knafelc and in the spring of 1982, they moved back onto the family farm. Together Barry and Brenda raised three sons, Dean, Scott and Todd and later on as a proud grandfather to three beautiful granddaughters who filled his spare time. There weren’t many people who haven’t heard all about them. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, three children, three grandchildren, brother and their families: Brenda Eggerman; Dean Eggerman and his daughter Breann; Scott(Shirley) Eggerman and their children Maysun and Harper; Todd Eggerman; Eugene(Judy) Eggerman and families David(Beth), Joe(Raime), Dale(Jennifer), Gene(Glynnis), Lisa, with their children; in-laws: Keith Knafelc, Elaine(Robert) Tremblay, Janet(Barry) Wilson, Doreen(Ron) Reinhart, Yvonne(Hal) Molle, Lloyd(Patsy) Knafelc, Harvey(Donna) Knafelc; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Lorne Eggerman, and parents John and Martha (nee Petersen) Eggerman. A Celebration of Barry’s Life took place at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. Cosmas Epifano, OSB. Others taking part were: Eugene Eggerman, crossbearer; Danny Breker and Dale Eggerman, scripture readers; Larry Eggerman, intentions; Darren and Joanne Nordick, memorial table attendants; and the eulogy was delivered by Gene Eggerman. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Barry’s life. The Urnbearer was Brenda Eggerman. Interment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt.
