Anne Mary Daeger, 91 years of Muenster, SK passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital. Anne was born on Jan. 11, 1920 to Caspar and Barbara (nee Mueller) Daeger at home near Muenster, SK.

Anne Mary Daeger, 91 years of Muenster, SK passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital. Anne was born on Jan. 11, 1920 to Caspar and Barbara (nee Mueller) Daeger at home near Muenster, SK. Growing up, Anne attended school in the area, especially enjoying the Christmas concerts, sports days and the library, where she developed a lifelong interest in reading. She worked in various hospitals and obtained her certificate in practical nursing. During those years, she was active in the CWL, worked on the diocesan executive, and served as president of the St. Elizabeth's Hospital Auxiliary. In 1974, she moved to Saskatoon where she worked at the Army & Navy Department Store for over 13 years. While in Saskatoon, Anne was very active with the Pro-Life association and St. Paul's Cathedral, singing in the choir for 12 years. Upon retiring in 1987, she returned to the farm at Muenster to live with her brother, Joe. She joined St. Peter's Cathedral choir, was a member of the Spiritual Care Team at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and the CWL. She supported Carlton Trail Pro-Life, belonged to a card group and the German Club and enjoyed bowling with the seniors in the winter. Anne was fortunate to have been able to do some traveling over the years, enjoying a trip to Expo in Montreal in 1967 and to the United States many times to visit relatives. She was involved with horticulture, planting and lovingly tending to her lily garden, roses, and fruit trees. Anne is survived by her brother, Joseph Daeger of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt and many good neighbours and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Caspar and Barbara Daeger. The Prayer Service for Anne was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Cathedral, Muenster presided by Donna Lee Bergermann. Readers were Doreen Grace and Celine Wolsfeld and the eulogy was given by Dennis Korte. The Funeral Mass was offered on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Cathedral, Muenster, celebrated by Fr. Daniel Muyres, OSB. Others taking part in the mass were: music ministry-pianist Christy Waldner, organist Sheryl Korte, director Gail Rueve and St. Peter's Cathedral Choir; cross bearer, Hugo Korte; readers, Rose Marie Buttinger and Agatha Rueve; intentions, Hugo Korte; gift bearers, Vivian Korte and Irene Szautner and memorial table attendants, Vyenda Korte and Celine Wolsfeld. An Honour Guard was formed by members of the St. Elizabeth Ladies Auxiliary and the CWL. Pallbearers were Ron Schreiner, Rene Grace, Harvey Szautner, Don Korte, Ron Frank and Dennis Korte. The Daeger Family stained glass window in St. Peter's Cathedral was dedicated and blessed at the conclusion of the mass. Interment followed in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Muenster. Memorial donations in Anne's memory may be made to Carlton Trail Pro-Life or St. Peter's Parish and/or Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt, SK.
