MANDERSCHEID: Andrew

Ìý

The sudden and unexpected death of Andrew Joseph Manderscheid, 83 years, of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt and formerly of Bruno, occurred on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Andrew was born in Humboldt, SK on February 6, 1932 to Mathias and Clara (nee Ilg) Manderscheid. He obtained his education at Keller School in the Wilmont area. Andy worked at a logging camp at Pine Falls, Manitoba, as a cook and was known to make the best pies, though the family never tasted one! While home from work, he met Loretta Tebbe at a dance. They married on August 18, 1954 at the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, near Muenster. Andy and Loretta were very busy and their family grew to include Ìýseven sons. They eventually moved back to the farm and began farming. Andy and Loretta farmed with his brother, John and his wife, Loretta, for many years. Like many farmers, back in the day, they always repaired their own farm equipment. They lived ½ mile from each other and visited often. Andy very much loved the harvest and as well enjoyed raising pigs. Andy was also an experienced carpenter and built many houses and did many reno jobs in the Bruno area. He took great pride in his work and always made sure the job was well done. Andy was an active person who enjoyed curling, hunting and keeping the ditches clean picking bottles. Andy also loved to garden and was known for raising the largest cucumbers and potatoes. Andy and Loretta readily shared their produce with friends and family. In 1984, Andy and Loretta retired and moved to Bruno where they built their own home. Andy was a big hockey fan and spent many hours at the Bruno rink sitting in his favourite seat. In later years, Andy also loved watching curling and boxing on tv. In August of 2014, Andy and Loretta were very fortunate to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary at their home with family and friends. On November 11, 2015 Andy moved to St. Mary’s Villa in Humboldt, SK and lived there until his passing. Andy will be sadly missed, lovingly remembered and will be forever held in the hearts of his family: Wife, Loretta, their 6 children, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren: MYLES (Connie) Manderscheid of Saskatoon and family Melissa (Austen) Church and children Lincoln and Lennin of Saskatoon, Lindsay Manderscheid of Abu Dhabi; NEIL (Joan) Manderscheid of Bruno and family Ian (Carmen) Manderscheid of Saskatoon and children Kadence and Keegan; DALE (Joanne) Manderscheid of Saskatoon and son Daryl Manderscheid of Prince Albert; LYLE Manderscheid and daughter Breanne Manderscheid, both of Saskatoon; GLENN Manderscheid of Saskatoon and family Corey (Shayna) Manderscheid of Muenster and Sara Manderscheid of Weyburn; BOB (Wanda) Manderscheid of Humboldt and family Hailey Manderscheid of Saskatoon and Dylan Manderscheid of Humboldt; brother Kenny Manderscheid of Summerland, BC; brothers-and-sisters in-law: Henry Tebbe of Hudson Bay; Frances Manderscheid of Saskatoon; Dorothy Hinz of Humboldt; Louise (Bill) Butler of Port Dover, ON; Frank (Deanna) Tebbe of Sparwood, BC; Raymond (Marilyn) Tebbe of Humboldt; Teckla Angeli of Kamloops, BC and Charlene Tebbe of Kamloops, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
