SCHWARTZ: Alois Peter
October 22, 1923 - October 8, 2014
The passing of Alois Peter Schwartz of Humboldt, SK, and formerly of Englefeld, SK, occurred on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Humboldt District Hospital, Humboldt, at the age of 90 years. Alois was born on October 22, 1923, and raised on the family farm in the Englefeld district and attended Greenside School. On August 15, 1950, Alois married Evelyn Bodnard in Englefeld and they worked together on the farm. Alois continued to live on the farm until 2012. They travelled to various destinations within Canada and the United States and also enjoyed going on RV trips and fishing trips within the province. Alois enjoyed fishing, working in his shop, and working with metal. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Alois will be lovingly remembered by his children: Carol (Daryl) Nordick of Saskatoon and family, Sean Nordick and Kendra (Adam) Dumont; Randy (Bernie) Schwartz of Kindersley and family, Michelle (Travis) Weber and children, Ronin and Samantha, Steven (Kelli) Schwartz and children, James, Maggie and Miles; Lyle (Michele) Schwartz of Humboldt and family, Lindsey (Jason) Kruger and sons, Kaiden and Lincoln, Kayla (Kyle) Bernesky, Braeden Schwartz; Daryl (Marianne) Schwartz of Saskatoon and family, Jacob (Laura) Schwartz, Benjamin (Kristi) Schwartz, Caleb Schwartz; Kelvin (Bonnie) Schwartz of Saskatoon and family, Devin and Logan Schwartz; and two sisters: Marie (Norman) Painter of Humboldt, and Louise Knafelc of Watson. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (nee Bodnard) Schwartz; his parents, Jacob and Susan (nee Raskob) Schwartz; two sisters: Helen Zimmer and Clara (in infancy); and four brothers: Lawrence, Ray, Art and Wilfred. The Prayer Service for Alois was held on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Englefeld presided by Patsy Knafelc and Marie ven der Buhs. Scripture readers were Patsy Knafelc and Marie ven der Buhs and organist was Sandra Athmer. Carol Nordick delivered the eulogy. The Funeral Mass was offered on Friday, October 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Darryl Millette. Others taking part were Marianne Schwartz and Michele Schwartz, scripture readers; Kendra Dumont and Jake Schwartz, intentions; Lyle Schwartz and Kelvin Schwartz, giftbearers; and Kayla Bernesky and Kendra Dumont, memorial table attendants. Music ministry was provided by the Holy Guardian Angels Choir. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Alois' life". Active pallbearers were Sean Nordick, Steven Schwartz, Braeden Schwartz, Jacob Schwartz, Benjamin Schwartz, Caleb Schwartz, Devin Schwartz and Logan Schwartz. Interment followed at the Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Cemetery, Englefeld. Memorial donations may be directed to the Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund.
