STAUB: Allan
The sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Allan “Rusty” James Staub, 62 years of Humboldt, occurred on Friday, February 13, 2015. Rusty was born on January 16, 1953 at St. Brieux to Imra “Jim” and Lena (nee Piatt) Staub. He grew up and went to school in St. Brieux. Rusty moved to Humboldt where he worked first at the Co-op Grocery Store as the produce manager and then at the OK Economy as the assistant manager. On August 20, 1977, he married Liola Gray. They made their home in Humboldt where they raised their three children. Making a career change, Rusty gained employment at PCS Lanigan Division, where he worked underground for 27 years, retiring in 2008. Since retiring, he has kept busy working for various companies at the BHP Billiton mine site. At present was he was employed with Chinook Pipeline Inc. In his younger years, Rusty enjoyed fishing with his father-in-law and he was gifted at woodworking. Rusty took great pride in their yard and spent many hours doing yard work and gardening. Above all, his greatest source of pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. Rusty will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 37 years LIOLA Staub of Humboldt; their three children and three grandchildren: Ryan Staub (Susan) Stevenson and Jillene (Rob) Enns and family Taya and Kade, all of Regina, and Michael Staub and daughter, Emily of Saskatoon; two brothers and five sisters: Bob (Georgina) Piatt of Saskatoon, Florence (Harvey) Woods of Lone Rock, SK, Alice (James) Anderson of Slave Lake, AB, Rose (Scott) Cann of Swift Current, Emma Staub, Mary Reves and Tony Staub, all of St. Brieux; in-laws of the Gray family; and by his numerous dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Lena Staub; grandson, Aiden Staub; parents-in-law, John and Helen Gray; brother-in-law Bert Reves and sister-in-law, Jane Fischer. The Funeral Mass for Rusty was held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Ephriam Mensah. Interment followed in the St. Augustine Parish Cemetery, Humboldt. Memorial Donations in Rusty’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.
