RCMP investigate fatal collision near North Battleford

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - The RCMP are investigating a fatal collision that left a man dead, near North Battleford.

On Sept. 3 at approximately 8:45 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 near North Battleford.

Officers responded immediately along with local fire and EMS.

Investigation determined a semi and SUV collided. The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 37-year-old male from Saskatoon. His family has been notified.

The driver of the semi reported no physical injuries to police.

Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate with assistance from a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Highway 16 was closed following the collision but has since reopened.
