Police seize cocaine, meth, firearms in drug bust

At the residences, officers located and seized a loaded handgun, a rifle, approximately 81 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 58 grams of crack cocaine, ammunition, a sum of cash and drug-trafficking paraphernalia.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - Three people are facing charges following a drug- and firearm-investigation in North Battleford.

On Oct. 22 at approximately 9:15 p.m., Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford Crime Reduction Team – Gang Task Force (CRT-GTF) executed search warrants at two homes, one on 109 Street and one on 110 Street in North Battleford. The warrants were executed as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. 

At the residences, officers located and seized a loaded handgun, a rifle, approximately 81 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 58 grams of crack cocaine, ammunition, a sum of cash and drug-trafficking paraphernalia.  

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team and Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Tactical Support Unit assisted in this investigation.

As a result of investigation, two men and a woman were arrested at the homes.

A 21-year-old suspect from North Battleford is charged with: possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized; possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without licence or registration; unsafe storage of firearms; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000; possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.

A 39-year-old suspect from North Battleford is charged with: possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized; unsafe storage of firearms; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.

A 20-year-old suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Battlefords RCMP for charges including failure to comply with a probation order and failure to appear in court.

The 21-year-old and 39-year-old suspects appeared in court in North Battleford on Oct. 24.
