THE BATTLEFORDS — Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre hosted it's first free pancake breakfast post-COVID 19 in celebration of National Indigenous People's Day in the Battlefords on June 21, an event that included a free pancake breakfast, live entertainment, and various children's activities.
Patricia Whitecalf-Ironstand, the organization's executive director, told the News-Optimist that she and BRT6HC were very happy to be hosting this event again, especially on a day celebrating Indigenous people's and cultures.
The event was just one of many in the Battlefords in area, including a powwow at the Western Development museum, and the grand opening of Poundmaker's traditional lodge.
