THE BATTLEFORDS — The Battleford Union Hospital Foundation has announced its monthly lottery for 2023 and 2024, with $50,000 in total prizes to be given away over the next year.
Only 1,300 tickets are being sold at $110 each.
The 50/50 enhancements have also returned for $10 each, with a guaranteed prize of $1,000 or half the pot, whichever is higher. Last year, a total of $15,935 was won by Shannon Cholin. There is a maximum of 10,000 enhancements being sold.
The BUHF is reminding supporters to purchase their tickets early so the buyer can be entered into several draws, including,
- 13 cash draws every month,
- the early bird prize of $1,000, which must be purchased before April 6,
- the previous purchaser prize of $1,000 for those who have purchased within the last three years, which must be purchased by April 14 at 5 p.m.
- and the 50/50 enhancement draw.
Tickets are available for purchase now, and early bird prizes will be drawn April 6.
This year, funds are being raised to help purchase an OMNI hysteroscope for use in the operating rooms and women’s health surgery at BUH.
According to the BUHF, this device will allow gynecologists to both see and remove unhealthy tissues, all in one step, ensuring faster, more comfortable and safer surgical procedures.
Additional donated funds raised will purchase a neonatal Optiflow unit for pediatric patients in the Women’s Health and Birthing Unit.
The neonatal Optiflow unit provides pediatric and neonatal patients high-flow oxygenation when in respiratory distress or failure. Often babies who are premature, in respiratory distress/failure or being weaned off other forms of respiratory support require transport to PICU or NICU.
This life-saving equipment stabilizes and reduces the effort required to breathe until they can maintain breathing independently and/or be transported to a specialized medical care facility.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.buhfoundation.com, by mail at Box 1358, North Battleford, S9A 3L8, in person at the BUH Foundation office or Battleford Furniture, or over the phone at 306-446-6652.
