PRINCE ALBERT AREA - Update, Oct. 18, 4:06 p.m.: The Prince Albert RCMP and Prince Albert Police Service are investigating connected violent incidents that occurred on Oct. 17, in and around Prince Albert.

The incidents began at approximately 4:45 PM, where a robbery took place in the RM of Garden River. Suspects threatened victims with a firearm and stole their vehicle, a Red 2005 Dodge Dakota. A second incident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. near the north parking lot of Little Red River Park. Suspects arrived in the stolen red truck and robbed two individuals of a Black 2013 Kia Sportage (SK plate 803 MKY). During this incident, both victims were assaulted, with one requiring hospital treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, the stolen vehicles were involved in a collision on Diefenbaker Bridge before fleeing the scene. The Stolen Red 2005 Dodge Dakota has since been recovered. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Forensic Identification Services is currently processing the recovered vehicles.

Limited descriptions of the suspects are available. They are described as three Indigenous males and one Indigenous female. One male was reported to be wearing a red shirt with many tattoos, while another was seen in a dark-coloured hoodie. All male suspects are described as tall and thin.

The Prince Albert RCMP and Prince Albert Police Service are treating these incidents as connected. The public is advised that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police urge the public not to approach any suspicious people or the outstanding stolen vehicle (a black 2013 Kia Sportage, SK plate 803 MKY).

Instead, they should report any relevant information immediately to the police.

In response to these incidents, the Prince Albert Police Service is increasing patrols in the affected areas, particularly around Little Red River Park. This enhanced police presence aims to ensure public safety and aid in the ongoing investigation.

"The safety of our community is our top priority," police said in a release.

Original Post, Oct. 17, 8:21 p.m.: On Oct. 17 at approximately 4:45 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a robbery in the RM of Garden River.

Initial investigation determined two individuals were in a vehicle driving on Garden River Road near Highway 55, northeast of Prince Albert. They approached a vehicle that looked like they were in need of assistance. When they stopped, a male threatened the individuals with a firearm and stole their vehicle.

No physical injuries were reported by the two individuals.

Prince Albert RCMP are actively investigating. Prince Albert Police Service received a report of a robbery near Little Red River Park around 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 17. Their investigation determined two individuals were threatened with a firearm and assaulted, then their vehicle was stolen.

One of the suspect vehicles then struck a vehicle within the City of Prince Albert and fled. No injuries were reported by the occupants of the struck vehicle.

Investigators believe the incidents may be connected.

They are asking the public to report all information about these incidents.

They may be driving a red 2005 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck with Saskatchewan licence plate 529 ISI or a black 2013 Kia Sportage with Saskatchewan licence plate 803 MKY.

If you see these vehicles or suspects, do not approach them. The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Be cautious approaching any unknown or suspicious people.
