With a pair of wins this past weekend on the road, the Yorkton Xerox Terriers of the SBAAHL have wrapped up the regular season portion of the 2015/16 SBAAHL campaign with a near-perfect 25-1-4 record.

Their only loss of the campaign came very early in the season against the Estevan TS&M Bruins, a 7-5 loss in their second game of the season.

Since then the Xerox Terriers have went 24-0-4 in league play and 13-0 in tournament play, including a 4-2 win on Saturday in Swift Current and a 10-1 victory Sunday in Moose Jaw.

Saturday

On Saturday the Xerox Terriers travelled to Swift Current to take on the Kabos Raiders in a very early afternoon game.

A pair of Aiden Bulych goals in the first period gave Yorkton a 2-0 lead.

A scoreless second period saw both teams have ample chances to score, but both Nolan Maier and Swift Current鈥檚 Brad Nyen stood tall, keeping both teams off the scoreboard for the entire middle frame.

A John Priela goal early in the third period cut the Yorkton lead in half, but a Massen Ziola marker just 31 seconds later restored the Xerox Terrier lead to two.

A Raider power play goal by Aaron Toews with just under two minutes made it a 3-2 game, but an empty net goal by Bulych to complete the hattrick with 19 seconds left made it a 4-2 final.

Maier picked up his league-leading 13th win of the season turning aside 18-of-20 Swift Current shots while Nyen played well in the loss, stopping 31 shots.

Sunday

A day later and the Xerox Terriers were once again in action, this time taking on the Moose Jaw Warriors in Little Chicago.

Two goals by Ethan Evanovich and single markers by Austin Dycer, Ryder Korczak, Colby Vranai and Josh Herman powered Yorkton to a 6-0 lead after just 20 minutes.

Another Korczak goal in the second period combined with goals by Jake Huska and Zach McIntyre made it 9-1 after two periods meaning the only thing left to be answered was whether or not Korczak could complete the hattrick; something he did in the latter stages of the final period to round out the scoring in a 10-1 Yorkton victory.

Spencer Welke picked up the win stopping 13-of-14 shots while Wile Cozac and Bryan Thomson combined to make 51 saves on 61 shots in the Moose Jaw net.

鈥淚n games like that, it鈥檚 easy for players to take control and be individuals, but we didn鈥檛 see that from anyone,鈥 said Xerox Terrier head coach Dan Cross. 鈥淲e were moving it around and generating lots of points for everyone.

If you look at the stats sheet almost everyone was on there and the most someone had was four points and in a 10 goal game that鈥檚 nice to see it all spread around like that.鈥

Up next

Due to finishing first place in the 麻豆传媒AV Division, the Xerox Terriers will now wait and see what happens in the first round of the SBAAHL playoffs before beginning their first playoff round on Tuesday, February 23.
