After Friday鈥檚 game, head coach Chris Newans praised his players for both the game and the season they鈥檝e had so far.

鈥淚 thought that we stuck to our systems and everything. We had a couple of turnovers that cost us but I thought our players came ready to play,鈥 said Newans regarding Friday night鈥檚 game.

鈥淲e鈥檝e had a very good season so far,鈥 said Newans. 鈥淧layers have bought in. And we have a huge support from our parent group and our management team, which includes all of our coaches and our manager.鈥

Newans said a huge part of the reason why they鈥檝e had such a great season is because of the team unity they鈥檝e built.

鈥淲e鈥檙e all on the same page and everyone has our 鈥榯eam first鈥 mentality. We don鈥檛 have any selfish people within our entire organization.鈥

Players Dakota Berezowski and Reid Arnold echoed remarks similar to their coach on why the team has been so successful.

鈥淲e have a team motto that鈥檚 鈥榯eam first鈥 and that鈥檚 what we鈥檙e running by right now,鈥 said Arnold. 鈥淲e鈥檙e competing and working every day at practice, which goes into the games.鈥

Berezowski said, 鈥淲e鈥檝e played all around a good game. It鈥檚 hard to explain, but everyone has shown up to play.鈥

With only four games left in the regular season for the Kinsmen Terriers, playoffs are undoubtedly on everyone鈥檚 minds. But Newans said there isn鈥檛 a ton they plan on doing to prepare.

鈥淭he only thing we鈥檙e doing is tightening up our systems and to just keep going forward with what we鈥檝e been doing,鈥 he said.

The Kinsmen Terriers will host the Melville Millionaires again in their next home game, which will take place at the Farrell Agencies Arena on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:00 p.m.
