Meta has introduced a multilingual, multimodal, codeswitching, translation, transcription AI model.

Huh?

It's a universal translator.  stands out with its capability to understand and translate both speech and text across nearly 100 languages. A unique feature is its adeptness at detecting codeswitching, where users switch languages mid-sentence.

Diverging from traditional systems, SeamlessM4T adopts a unified approach, streamlining the translation process by bypassing the need for intermediate models.

In a move that underscores their commitment to collaborative innovation, Meta has opted to release SeamlessM4T under a Creative Commons license, fostering a spirit of open-source development.

There are any number of translation engines out there; I'm looking forward to putting SeamlessMT4 through its paces.
