The Canadian Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (CanFR) was established to encourage municipal governments across Canada to publish good financial reports while offering peer recognition and technical guidance to officials involved in their preparation.
This accolade signifies an achievement by the government and its management, as it was assessed by impartial members of the Canadian Review Committee, who deemed Saskatoon's 2021 annual financial report to meet the exacting standards of the program. The report effectively conveyed the municipality's economic narrative in a constructive "spirit of full disclosure," inspiring readership among potential users and user groups.
