REGINA — Lt.-Gov. Russ Mirasty and Donna Mirasty invite guests to join them on Monday, Sept. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Saskatchewan Residential School Memorial on the grounds of Government House at 4607 - Dewdney Ave. in Regina.

There will not be a program – just an informal opportunity to be together to remember the children who were taken from their homes to attend residential schools. Visitors may choose to stay for a short time or the whole afternoon. The Mirastys will be available to speak about the memorial, to hear from those who have been impacted by residential schools, and to visit with anyone wishing to join them.

With the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation coming up at the end of this month, numerous events will be held. These activities can be comforting and educational but can also be emotionally triggering. If you want a quiet place to sit and reflect, you are welcome to visit the Residential School Memorial at any time.

The National Indian Residential School Crisis Line provides 24-hour support to former Residential School students and their families toll-free at 1-866-925-4419 and the Indian Residential School Survivors Society line can be reached at 1-800-721-0066.
