NORTH BATTLEFORD - Battlefords RCMP are investigating a complaint of someone discharging a firearm in North Battleford.
On Aug. 12 at approximately 3:40 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received multiple reports of a firearm being discharged near 108th Street.
Officers responded immediately and determined that no one had been injured in the area.
After investigating, police determined a number of people fled the area on foot, and that a white vehicle was also observed fleeing the area.
Shortly after, officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Two men and a woman were located inside the vehicle and arrested.
Officers located and seized a shot gun and ammunition, including multiple expensed shells, inside the vehicle. The SUV appeared to have been damaged by gunfire.
As a result of continued investigation, a 25-year-old man, from Turtleford, is charged with: operation of a motor vehicle while impaired; operation of a motor vehicle with blood alcohol concentration greater than 80 mg.; possession of firearm/weapon/ammunition in a motor vehicle; possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without licence/registration; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized; weapon possession contrary to order.
A 31-year-old man, from Thunderchild First Nation, is charged with fail to comply with undertaking condition.
A 23-year-old woman, from North Battleford, is charged with fail to comply with a probation order.
Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate.
