REGINA - A big name has been announced to replace John Gormley on Rawlco radio stations later this month.

He is Evan Bray, the former Chief of Police with Regina Police Service who retired earlier this year. Bray takes over Gormley's morning talk show on 980 CJME Regina and 650 CKOM Saskatoon starting Nov. 27.

The announcement that Bray will take over was made by Gormley at the start of his show Thursday morning. Gormley had announced the day before he would be departing his show Nov. 24.

The new show will continue to run in the same time slot, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

While Bray is best known for his 30-year career in policing, he also previously had a radio and TV career including several years at Rawlco Radio.

According to Rawlco's news release, The Evan Bray Show "is about the stories that affect our lives.  The serious issues but also sports (Evan is a former PA announcer for the Riders and a huge hockey fan), and a focus on the positive things happening in our province."

Rawlco is promising the show will have interesting guests and diverse viewpoints. "The Evan Bray Show is about Saskatchewan and for Saskatchewan.  It will be where Saskatchewan comes to talk."
