Government allocates $4.9M to bridges

REGINA — Eleven rural communities will receive nearly $4.9 million in provincial grants from the Rural Integrated Roads for Growth (RIRG) program to rebuild 14 bridges and large culverts. 

When combined with municipal dollars, the total estimated value of the projects is more than $12.3 million.

Projects include:

• RM of Kingsley No. 124 – correction road culvert replacement- grant $108,873, total cost $217, 745

• RM of Laiord No. 128 – Estin Bridge replacement, grant $500,00, total cost $2,245,000;

• RM of Bratt’s Lake No. 129 – bridge replacement, grant $475,000, total cost $1.3 M;

• RM of Longlaketon No. 219 – Little Church Road Bridge replacement, grant $500,00, total cost $1,835,000;

• RM of Lacadena No. 228 – Gray Bridge replacement, grant $500,000, total cost $1,094,000;

• RM of Lacadena No. 228 – Lewis Bridge replacement, grant $500,000, total cost $1,094,000;

• RM of Milden No. 286 – Bridge 293 culvert replacement; grant $96,078, grant $392,150;

• RM of Leroy No. 339 – bridge replacement with culverts, grant $245,500, total cost $491,000;

• RM of Pleasantdale No. 398 – Wensley Bridge, grant $351,000, total cost $702,000;

• RM of Hazelwood No. 457 – Lesson’s Bridge (west), grant $500,00, total cost $1,020,000;

• RM of Hazelwood No. 457 – Lesson’s Bridge (east), grant $475,000, total cost $950,000;

• RM of Torch River No. 488 – replacement of box culvert, grant $46,500; total cost $93,000;

• RM of Canwood No. 494 – Â鶹´«Ã½AV Victoire culvert replacement, grant $232,400, total cost $465,000;

• RM of Canwood No. 494, Werford Bridge conversion, grant $215,000, total cost, $430,000.
