Exciting wrap-up of the Lloyd Ex Fair: Bulls, bands and handicrafts

Draft horse riding and indoor musical entertainment new this year.

LLOYDMINSTER — Lloyd Ex Fair Wrapping up. Lloyd Ex Fair has come and gone.

The Ex featured a new layout for the midway and a wide array of agriculture shows including team sorting, team penning, multiple draft horse shows/ demonstrations, sheep show, and pen show. New this year was a draft horse-riding class.

Running with the Bulls kicked off with a preshow of calf scramble and wild pony race with 20 entries. Running with the Bulls had 22 entries. with Kaleb Bull taking home a $5,000 prize.

Two concerts were hosted in the Culligan Water Building instead of having grandstand entertainment, dodging any weather interference, collaborating with the Filipino community.The Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association booked Rachel Alejandro who attracted a large audience. The preshow featured local talent in the Filipino community. Canadian icon, Tom Cochrane, was on stage Friday night.

Country Lane was a big hit with families. There was a petting zoo of farm animals as well as pony rides, both offered by Meadowcroft. There were a few vendors in Country Lane as well, with different demonstrations and activities featuring the grain industry, and other subjects.

A Creates It competition drew local talent to showcase their creations in categories ranging from baking, photography, paintings, drawings, knitting to woodworking and so much more. These entries got judged based on category criteria and those in first, second and third earned prizes.
