A new 15-miles-per-hour speed limit was imposed on Main Street in Unity.
Unity high school students Larry Watt, Robin DeRoo, Emile Nickel and Bill Keller qualified to represent northwest Saskatchewan at the high school curling provincial finals.
Forty rinks took part in Wilkie’s 58th annual open bonspiel. Winning the grand challenge event was the Larry Bojarski rink of Wilkie, which included Ken Westwater, Russell Horback and Myron Miller.
Our Drug Store and Humphrey’s Drug Mart in Unity, Ortynski Pharmacy in Wilkie and Wismer’s Pharmacy in Macklin jointly advertised some specials, including 69¢ for 250 100mg Vitamin C tablets and 10¼ ounce bottles of Jergen’s lotion for 79¢.

As negotiations with an Atlanta, Ga., investment group had been dragging on for some six months, the Prairie Springs Mineral Spa board in Wilkie decided they would let the shareholders determine whether to carry on, downsize the project or end efforts.
The board of directors for Tramping Lake Regional Park held meetings in Kerrobert, Tramping Lake, Handel and Dodsland to discuss the future of the park. After considering the input from individuals attending the meetings, the directors made the difficult decision to not open for the 2004 season and to look into dissolution of the park.
Winning the A event at the Green Acres men’s open bonspiel in Unity was the rink of Barry Massett, Marlowe Rusk, Lindsay Gampe and Gerald Gerlinsky.
