Grant Dupe of the Sask. Water Shed installed a sign on the Good Spirit Control Structure this past weekend to warn snowmobilers and skiers of the potential danger of thin ice around the structure and the cannel. With the early snow cover the water has had no chance to freeze deeply and can appear to be snow covered and yet be water underneath. The Structure will remain open to lower the lake by another 2 feet which will hopefully make room for next spring’s runoff. Grant states that caution should be taken when around this area until that level is achieved and the spill way is closed to allow for the water to freeze to a safe thickness.Submitted photo
