The residents of Yorkton and District Nursing Home will certainly enjoy the hot weather this summer, thanks to Terry Ortynsky and Royal Ford.
The Nursing home was the proud winner of two new gazebos, compliments of Royal Ford’s “Dust Off Yorkton Stars” contest for March. Yorkton’s Karen Delong submitted the request for the nursing home gazebos.
The dealership is running the contest as part of its year-long 25th anniversary. Through the Dust Off Yorkton Stars program, area residents are encouraged to submit entries to the dealership’s website outlining a community program for Royal Ford. Each month, Ortynsky and his team pick a winning entry. The team then purchases the item requested for the program.
“The residents would like to go outside, but currently do not have a shaded area,” said Delong. “With this purchase, we can begin to build a new area that we hope will eventually develop into a beautiful park,” she wrote.
Ortynsky said the contest has been a very rewarding initiative for all involved.
“We thought this would be a really special way of thanking Yorkton and surrounding area, for their support of Royal Ford over the past 25years,” said Terry Ortynsky, owner of Royal Ford. “It is really wonderful to see the difference our contribution is making to all of the groups who have been selected.”
“There are still five months left in the contest, and five organizations will receive special donations,” Ortynsky said. “We’d like to encourage everyone who knows of an organization in need to send in a request.”
To submit a request, visit Terry Ortynsky’s Royal Ford website at www.terryortynsky.com. The Stars Committee votes once a month on the best project. The winner will get the star treatment.Submitted Photo
