A Prince Albert man charged with weapons and drug-related offences had two more bail hearings but remains in custody.

Kevin Ackegan, 40, had show cause hearings scheduled in Prince Albert Provincial Court July 6 and July 7 but wasn’t released and the matter was adjourned.

Ackegan – who has been in custody since his arrest in February – has now had seven show cause hearings scheduled.

During a traffic stop Prince Albert Police searched Ackegan’s vehicle and say they found two firearms, ammunition, a knife, a machete, bear spray, hydromorphone, methamphetamine, and Gabapentin pills. They also found U.S., Jamaican and Canadian currency. A second person was arrested during the traffic stop but police didn't release the individual's name.

A continuation of Ackegan’s show cause hearing is now scheduled in Prince Albert Provincial Court on July 20.
