Pinoy Market, North Battleford’s first Asian grocery store, held its grand opening Jan. 29. A table was laid out with samples of Philipino cuisine and T-shirts were given to the first few customers. “We’re very excited,” said part-owner Rose Lacsamana. “People are excited to come here and try new stuff.” The other part-owners are Rose’s husband Jay-R Lacsamana and Rod Contreras. Pinoy Market opened its doors Dec. 19 and has steadily been filling the shelves since.Photo by Tara Scaglione
