LA RONGE – A female youth, who was charged with first-degree murder in 24-year-old Edgar Ratt’s death, has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of accessory after the fact to murder.
The youth, who can’t be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will be sentenced on Nov. 10 in La Ronge Provincial Court.
There is a publication ban on the evidence presented in court. Three of the youth’s co-accused, Cameron Ross, 24, Gracie Isbister, 21, and Charmaine Charles, 22, are currently running preliminary hearings on charges of first-degree murder.
Crown prosecutor Ruth Fafard asked the court for the ban, saying if the evidence was made public it could compromise the jury selection process.
Ratt died in hospital after he was assaulted in a home on Jack Bell Place in Bell’s Point at about 3:15 a.m. on July 21, 2022.
