YORKTON – Police raided two homes on Broadway Street West and Sixth Avenue North in Yorkton on July 28 and seized cocaine. Five people were charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
The search warrants, executed at about 4 p.m. by officers from Yorkton RCMP, Yorkton RCMP Municipal General Investigation Section and Yorkton Saskatchewan Trafficking and Response Team, were part of an ongoing investigation into illicit drug trafficking in the area.
Officers located and seized approximately 94 grams of cocaine wrapped up into approximately 150 portions and a large sum of cash.
