SASKATOON – Three men arrested following a police raid of a home in Rosetown on Aug. 23 were remanded in custody after their first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court Aug. 28. All three have bail hearings set for Aug. 30.
Andrew Brock Ek, 31, Brandon Roland Hipfner, 28, and Jaiden Danny Paris Rosin, 23, are charged with attempted murder while using a prohibited firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, two counts of possession of a a restricted firearm with ammunition, unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of firearm with a serial number that has been altered, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
During a search of the residence at 708 Herkimer Street, police seized a sawed-off shotgun, a sawed-off rifle, a large amount of ammunition, imitation firearms, hash packaged for sale, illicit cannabis, scales and packaging material.
Rosetown RCMP, along with officers from the North Battleford and Moose Jaw RCMP Crime Reduction Teams, the Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Response Team and Combined Traffic Services Section (CTSS), worked together. Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section and the Saskatchewan RCMP Trafficking Response Team in Saskatoon also assisted.
The charges against Ek, Hipfner, and Rosin haven’t been tested in court.
