Suspect in death of Deanna Greyeyes to stand trial

Stephen David James Greyeyes’ matter has gone to Saskatoon Court of King's Bench to set a trial date.

SASKATOON – A 35-year-old man will stand trial in the death of 66-year-old Deanna Greyeyes in 2018.

Stephen David James Greyeyes’ matter was before Saskatoon Provincial Court May 30 and it was sent to Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench to set a trial date on a charge of second-degree murder. He remains in custody. 

Greyeyes, who is from the Blaine Lake and Prince Albert areas was arrested on Jan. 28, 2022, and charged with second-degree murder and committing an indignity to a body.

On Nov. 26, 2018, Deanna Greyeyes was found deceased in a rural area near Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. She had been reported missing to the Blaine Lake RCMP a day earlier.
