Stolen vehicle leads to drug charges in Regina

Police find methamphetamine and fentanyl in search.

REGINA – Following up on a reported stolen vehicle led police to lay weapons and drug charges. Around 11 a.m. on Jan. 30, police found a vehicle reported stolen during the previous day in the area of 13th Avenue and King Street.

“The vehicle parked nearby and a male and female exited and entered a business,” said RPS in a media release. “Police entered the business and arrested the male and female and placed them into custody without incident.”

A subsequent search revealed an improvised firearm, knives, and “substances believed to be illicit drugs”.

“The female was determined not to be involved in the offenses, and the male was found to be in breach of conditions of probation,” RPS said.

Rodger King, 51, of Regina was charged with possession of a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine and fentanyl), and a fail to comply with probation order.

King made his first court appearance on these charges in court on Jan. 31.
