SASKATOON – Police are investigating two violent incidents in the city Thursday. One was downtown and another one was on the west side.

At approximately 12:30 on July 20, police were called to the 200 block of 1st Avenue Â鶹´«Ã½AV for a report of an altercation that involved several people. When police arrived, they determined a man had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several suspects were located and arrested but later released without charges. Police say a male suspect had fled the area and threw a knife away in a garbage bin. Officers retrieved the knife and continue to search for the suspect that fled.

Almost two hours later, police got a call about men involved in a physical altercation in the 400 block of Fairmont Drive. The caller reported seeing a male armed with a knife.

When police arrived, they found two male suspects and arrested them. They weren’t able to locate a victim.
