Saskatoon police investigating hate crime

SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Police Service Hate Crime Unit is investigating after an assault where derogatory comments about gender were made.  Two women have been charged.

Police say that shortly after 4 a.m., May 30, patrol members responded to a report of a woman being assaulted by two other women outside of a hotel in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive. When police arrived, they learned the two women had also made derogatory comments about gender. 

The victim, 43-years-old, didn’t sustain serious physical injuries.

The two women, ages 33 and 41, were arrested at the scene and are both facing charges of assault.
