Saskatoon police investigate weekend homicide, arrest man

Members of the Saskatoon Police Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate.

At about 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 2, Saskatoon police responded to a call of an injured person in a business parking lot on the 1600 block of 20th Street West.

SASKATOON – Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section are investigating the death of a 36-year-old man on Saturday as a homicide.

Police say that at about 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 2, they responded to a call of an injured person in a business parking lot on the 1600 block of 20th Street West. When they arrived, they found the man who had succumbed to a serious injury.

Responding patrol members determined the suspect’s description and a suspect was located and arrested nearby a short time later without incident. A 23-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with second-degree murder, as well as two breach of probation charges and breach of undertaking. He will appear before a Justice of the Peace Sunday morning.

Members of the Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate.
