SASKATOON – Update Aug. 21, 4:51 p.m.: Saskatoon Police Service Investigators with the Serious Assault Unit have upgraded the previous charge of aggravated assault to attempted murder. Police say their further investigation revealed that the suspect and victim are not known to each other.

The 26-year-old accused will make his first appearance in provincial court tomorrow morning.

SPS say that patrol officers had been called to the 300 block of Avenue C Â鶹´«Ã½AV at about 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 20. The suspect fled on foot but police arrested him just after midnight on Aug. 21 and charged him with aggravated assault.
