Saskatoon police arrest man trying to break into business compound

Live security cameras caught a man trying to steal a vehicle.

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly trying to break into a locked compound Monday morning. He is charged with break and enter.

At about 12 a.m. on June 26, Saskatoon Police Service Patrol and Canine officers responded to a compound in the 100 block of English Crescent for a report of a break and enter. Staff viewing live security cameras reported seeing an individual attempting to steal a vehicle. When officers entered the compound, the suspect was quickly located but disregarded officer commands and attempted to flee by climbing a fence. He was apprehended with the assistance of the Police Service Dog (PSD).

The man’s bites from the police dog were assessed by paramedics on scene prior to officers taking him to police cells.
